Life in San Francisco as perceived by a hometown girl, teacher, nanny, artist and klutz
Breaking news from Paris! The Pont des Arts, famous because of the large amount of love locks which were placed on its fences by thousands of couples… began to collapse due to the high weigh of these love locks.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, as a consequence, ordered the removal of all the love locks. The Pont des Arts will never be the same anymore. An international love symbol has disaspeared…
Wow, this is heartbreaking. I love the Pont des Arts. All good things right.
I hope they do something fantastic with the locks. Some were really stunning.
Iraqi student Zeidoun Alkinani protesting the possession of ancient Iraqi artifacts by Germans at the Babylonian Ishtar Gate in the Pergamon Museum of Berlin.
Prior to World War I, German archaeologists excavated large numbers of ancient artifacts across what is today Iraq and shipped them to Germany as part of a larger phenomenon of cultural pillage by European archaeologists across the Middle East that continued for decades.
In 2002, Iraqi officials asked for the return of the Gate, to no avail. A year later, the U.S. invaded the country.

Art restitution should occur with cultural indifference.
Hey everyone, my really good and fantastically awesome friend Amanda is working on a play and needs your help. If you are interested and willing to share your story with her (or just want someone to talk to) I know she would greatly appreciate it and be all ears. I also know she would be respectful towards whatever story anyone chooses to share.
Currently Amanda is studying social work and is looking for a job working with homeless and runaway LGBTQ+ youth. She is a fantastic listener and also willing to help in anyway she can if need be, including looking into various shelters and helplines for people.
Calling all Trans*, nonbinary, agendered, asexual, pansexual, aromantic, intersex (and anyone else you can think of that deals with ______ erasure). I’m trying to plan this show that’s like The Vagina Monologues but for the people I mentioned above (and may have forgot to mention, sorry guys!) but I really need people to interview. We don’t even have to live close to each other, skype and e-mai are things! So if you or anyone you know identify as any of the above and want to be part of this show (or don’t want to be part of this and just want someone to talk to) send me a message and we’ll figure out a way to conduct the interview/conversation. Thank you!
(oh you should also reblog this if you want so it reaches a wider audience because I really want to make this happen, but I can’t do that without people willing to tell their story.
